What We Believe

The core doctrines and Pentecostal distinctives that ground our life together as a congregation.

Zion Assemblies of God South Florida holds to the foundational truths of Biblical Christianity and the Pentecostal faith as expressed in the Statement of Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God. These are not merely doctrines to be acknowledged — they are the convictions that shape our worship, our prayer, our community, and our mission.

Core Beliefs

The Fundamental Truths

  • The Holy Scriptures 2 Timothy 3:16–17 We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God — the supreme rule for faith and conduct.
  • One True God Deuteronomy 6:4 We believe in one God who is eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • The Deity of Christ John 1:1, 14 We believe in the full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ — born of a virgin, crucified, buried, raised on the third day, and ascended to the right hand of the Father.
  • The Fall of Man Romans 3:23 We believe man was created good and upright, but by his own choice fell into sin, bringing spiritual death to all humanity.
  • Salvation Ephesians 2:8–9 We believe salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a gift of God's grace, not earned by works.
  • Baptism in Water Matthew 28:19 We believe in water baptism by immersion as an outward sign of an inward work of grace.
  • Baptism in the Holy Spirit Acts 2:4 We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial physical evidence of speaking in other tongues, as in Acts 2.
  • Divine Healing Isaiah 53:5 We believe in the divine healing of the sick through prayer and faith, as provided in the atonement and taught in Scripture.
  • The Lord's Supper 1 Corinthians 11:26 We observe Holy Communion as a memorial of Christ's suffering and death, proclaiming His sacrifice until He comes.
  • The Second Coming of Christ 1 Thessalonians 4:16 We believe in the imminent, personal return of Jesus Christ for His Church, followed by His visible reign on earth.
  • The Resurrection John 5:28–29 We believe in the resurrection of the dead — the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to eternal judgment.
